Board approves Emergency 15 (E15) plan to preserve instructional continuity for 2025–26

The Farmington Board of Education voted Aug. 12 to approve the Emergency 15 (E15) Plan for the 2025–2026 school year. Trustee Claudia T. Heinrich moved and Trustee Thomas J. Hull supported the motion; a voice vote recorded Ayes: Blau, Heinrich, Hull, Recinto, Weems, Nays: None. The motion passed 5–0.
Assistant Superintendent Rhonda Henry described the E15 Plan as a state-allowed option that grants the district instructional flexibility during emergencies or special circumstances and noted that the plan must be approved before the first day of school. Henry said pre-approval "allows us to maintain continuity of instruction," an element she said would reduce disruption to students in emergency scenarios.
