The select board approved several event requests for the fall and took action to support the Sept. 1 state primary. The board voted to approve youth soccer on Saturdays beginning Sept. 6, 2026, an outdoor Friends of the Nahant Library book sale on Sept. 19 and a swim/beach cleanup on Sept. 20 with contingency plans for inclement weather.
Board members also approved a Nahant police officer detail for the Sept. 1 primary (coverage starting at 6:45 a.m. and continuing until votes are counted at town hall), and they set early‑voting hours in town hall in late August to accommodate absentee and in‑person early voters. The board then approved the warrant for the Sept. 1 primary as provided by the town clerk and elections officer.
Officials said volunteers and coordinators would receive event logistics and that DPW would support cleanup efforts.
