Human Resources Director Janice Porter Braithwaite introduced the city's recent hires for the first quarter of the fiscal year. Among those named were new police officers including Alexandra Herrera (hire date Oct. 27), firefighter/paramedic Nicholas Benjen (hire date listed 11/05/2025), part-time parks aides Andrea Ward and Caleb Moody (hire date 12/15/2025), and municipal court clerk Jose Mauricio (hire date 12/22/2025).
One new hire addressed the council briefly to say they were excited to help improve municipal-court processes and serve the community. Mayor Brown welcomed the new staff and the council thanked Human Resources for the hires.
