City directors report on events, ADA work, housing and recreation updates
Summary

Several department directors presented reports during the July 20 meeting.
Marketing & Communications Director Tyrel Brown updated the commission on the recent City Commissioner’s Dinner, ongoing ADA compliance efforts, and promotion of an upcoming Breeder’s Classic Bucking Horse Sale. Community Development Director Teresa Presser briefed the commission on North Prairie Addition housing discussions, follow-up to an upcoming proposal, collaboration opportunities with MHA Nation, participation in ND Vision West meetings, the Roosevelt Custer Regional Council leadership program, and mall property renovation work. Parks & Recreation Director Ryan Schleppenbach summarized recreation programming including a July 4th 5K and kids race, the conclusion of baseball and softball seasons, and the steering committee for a recreation facility feasibility study.
The commission also recorded that Library Director Sam Kukla was invited to the IMLS Library Convening 250th Conference and that the library is working with JLG Architects on renovation planning. No formal votes were attached to these reports; they were informational updates recorded in the minutes.
