Alexander Marrero of Pike Telecom & Renewables LLC sought an easement to grant Verizon New England access to an existing conduit at the Middleton Municipal Complex, 99 S. Main St., to deliver low-voltage service. Town counsel reviewed the proposed easement; the minutes state the conduit remains town property and the town is responsible for conduit maintenance in the event of damage, while Verizon will own the cable within the conduit.
The board voted unanimously to grant the easement on a motion by Rick Kassiotis, seconded by Jeff Garber. Minutes note there are four conduits into the building and one is used by Verizon.
