Council recognizes youth hoop-shoot champion and approves Speedway sponsorship

Sarah Gray, promoter of Diamond Mountain Speedway, requested a $2,500 sponsorship to support a season of five full racing weekends that she said draws about 700 participants and generates regional economic activity across roughly 30 days. Finance Director Nick Rousseau confirmed available funds in the miscellaneous budget. Councilmember Ed Long moved to approve the $2,500 sponsorship and the council voted unanimously.
