Resident Marcel Howard used his public-comment time to criticize the council's public conduct and called for accountable, transparent leadership.
"Our council has started to live more like the Jerry Springer show than a government body, and that's unacceptable," Howard said, urging elected officials to focus on practical issues such as family supports, public-safety infrastructure and neighborhood needs rather than personal attacks. The city later convened an executive session and, in open session, said it had consulted the city attorney regarding statements from a prior public-comment item about warrant procedures and that no immediate action was recommended based on available information.
Howard said his experience running for office and disclosing his ADHD had been a catalyst for community engagement and urged council members to "use that" to come together and serve residents' needs.
