During the public-comment period, resident Denise Delara told the council she had documentation she said shows campaign materials and undisclosed expenditures and said the Texas Ethics Commission "has forwarded this matter to the attorney general's office for additional investigation and potential criminal charges." She accused the council and city attorney of allowing a lack of accountability and urged the council to enforce campaign finance laws.
Jackie Bullock followed with a separate comment about misuse of her address by another individual. Bullock described earlier efforts to understand how her address was used and said she felt ignored by several councilmembers at a prior meeting; she asked the council to improve candidate vetting so residents can trust elections going forward. Both speakers asked the council to pursue transparency and follow-up.
Mayor Brown and councilmembers did not take immediate action on the allegations during the meeting; the comments were entered into the record.
