Glenn Heights honors firefighters for delivering baby in the field

Glenn Heights on Nov. 18 recognized members of the Glenn Heights Fire Department for delivering a healthy baby girl in the field on March 5. Fire Chief Nicholas Williams told the council that Captain Justin Rudd, Engineer Sean Kelly, Firefighter Joshua Escano, Firefighter Ryan Bicek, Firefighter Seth Reese and Paramedic Specialist Charles Admire "demonstrated what true excellence looks like under pressure."
"Their quick thinking, calm demeanor, and flawless teamwork turned what could have been a critical emergency into a moment of pure joy," Williams said while presenting a baby-delivery commendation. Mayor Sonya A. Brown and councilmembers thanked the crew for the lifesaving response and praised the department's training and professionalism.
The recognition highlighted the department's role in emergency medical responses as well as fire suppression, and the mayor read the official commendation into the record. No formal action or budget request accompanied the recognition.
