Board approves resignations, hires, policies and substitutes

Under the superintendent's recommendations, the board accepted the resignations of Devon Anthony (effective Jan. 14, 2026) and Tina Jones (effective Feb. 20, 2026). The board approved Amanda Belknap as a band volunteer and authorized Joey Lunsford as an after-school high‑school credit recovery instructor to be paid at the tutor rate. The board amended an unpaid leave for Alexis Stallman to run Feb. 20–Apr. 15, 2026.
The board also approved the district Gifted Identification Plan and Gifted Education Policy, Stark State College's College Credit Plus agreement, and several board policies including Preventing Chronic Absenteeism (effective Aug. 1, 2026), Student Health Services and First Aid, Transportation of Students in Board Owned Vehicles (replacement), Overdose Reversal Drugs, Expense Reimbursements, Control of Pest Insects, and Recording of Academic Instruction, Meetings, and Other Services. Finally, the board approved certain classified substitutes (for example Stephanie Lendon as an aide) pending proper credentialing.
All items in the superintendent's block of recommendations were approved by roll call vote; the minutes do not include employment contract terms, pay rates (except that the instructor will be paid at the tutor rate), or counts for the substitute pool beyond example names.
