On March 9 the Claymont City School District board approved a package of superintendent-recommended personnel and operational items. The board accepted unpaid maternity leave for Markie Tarleton effective March 9, 2026, and approved Anna Debolt as a preferred teacher substitute retroactive to Feb. 23, 2026 at the rate of $115 per day.
The board approved one-year limited contracts for Kayla Cromley (educational aide) and Dan Kinsey (bus floater), each with a 90-day probationary period beginning March 9, 2026, pending credentialing. The board also approved up to 30 extended service days for Jasmine Russell for the 2025–2026 school year and the appointment of Lily Specht as a student teacher for the 2026–2027 school year with mentors Staci Dunn and Shannon Viebranz.
Administratively, the board approved the use of district school buses for YMCA summer programming, specifying that all costs are to be charged to the YMCA. These personnel and operational items were included in the superintendent's recommendations and were approved by the board during the meeting.
