Board approves multiple hires, summer staff and accepts retirements and resignations

Trustees approved several full‑time probationary hires, summer-school staffing and club advisors, and accepted or reapproved resignations and retirement notices after a TRS administrative issue required rescinding prior resolutions.
The Board approved the appointment of Michael Olsen as a full‑time probationary Technology Teacher (effective Sept. 1, 2026; MA, Step 22; annual salary $99,875) and Rachel Chunco as a full‑time probationary Physical Education/Health Teacher (effective Sept. 1, 2026; BA, Step 1; annual salary $44,132). The Board also approved a slate of summer-school teachers, aides and substitute staff and the roster of club and class advisors for 2026–27 (examples and stipends are recorded in minutes).
Because of a change in guidance from the State Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS) about rescinding retirements tied to substitute appointments, the Board rescinded several April 7, 2025 resolutions and reapproved resignations and retirements for multiple employees (examples recorded in minutes include Joy Dabill, William Bruning and others). Each personnel motion recorded in the minutes passed unanimously (6–0).
Board members praised retiring staff for their service; Superintendent Dr. Reimer described the hiring pools as strong and welcomed the incoming personnel.
