Mrs. Lingle told the board the District had been approached by Cornell Cooperative to host the Veggie Van mobile food pantry on campus on April 16 and May 14. She said the program is "not a need-based food opportunity, rather an outreach," and that it is funded through a grant and backed by the county; it currently operates in Niagara Falls and Lockport.
Separately, Business Official Ms. Miner reported the district received a Platinum/Titanium School Safety Excellence Award from Utica National Insurance Group along with a $500 donation to address potential safety threats. The board accepted the award and donation by motion (Yes: 6, No: 0).
Administrators said they hope the Veggie Van will operate through the summer and will monitor participation and logistics.
