District seeks more parent responses for special education measure; starts ACCES‑VR career exploration

Director of Instructional Services and Special Education J. Duerr told the board the district needs "at least 28 more of the parents/guardians to report" for State Performance Indicator 8, which measures parent involvement in special education services.
Duerr described the district’s participation in an ACCES‑VR career exploration program that will run two days per week and provide career exploration, soft-skill development and resume-building to support students with disabilities. She also outlined preparations for training Special Education teachers next year so the district can meet reporting requirements for Indicator 13 in 2026–27.
The board did not take a vote on these items but received the updates and will monitor outreach to increase parent response rates.
