On Nov. 17 the Jasper CCSD 17 Board of Education moved into executive (closed) session at 7:13 p.m., citing school board policy 2:220-E2 and Illinois statutory exemptions (5 ILCS 120/2C(1); 5 ILCS 120/2C(2); 5 ILCS 120/2(C)(9)) for "appointment, employment compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees," collective-negotiating matters and student disciplinary cases. Justin Atwood made the motion and Jarad Blanton seconded; the recorded vote was six yes with one member absent.
The board reconvened at 7:37 p.m. on a motion by Caitlin Glisson seconded by Justin Atwood and subsequently approved the executive session minutes as recorded on a motion by Josh Zurliene seconded by Shawn Otey.
