Canaan BOE subscribes to Region One policies including FMLA and nondiscrimination

The Canaan Board of Education unanimously approved becoming a subscribing member to several Region One policies on a motion by Treasurer Emily Peterson, seconded by Member Maria Bulson. The policies approved include 4152.6 (Family and Medical Leave Act), 0521 (Nondiscrimination), 6161.12 (Library Material Review and Reconsideration), 6161.13 (Library Collection Development and Maintenance), 5113.13 (Work-Study Student Employment Work Release), and a Service Animals policy.
The subscription means the Canaan BOE will adopt Region One’s versions of those policies rather than maintaining separate local text; the minutes record the policy numbers but do not include the full text of the policies.
