The Claymont City Board of Education elected Solomon Peters as its 2026 Board President during the organizational meeting on Jan. 12, 2026. Mrs. Host moved and Ms. Campbell seconded the motion to elect Peters; on the roll-call vote Mrs. Host, Ms. Campbell, Mrs. Grandison and Mrs. Wolf voted yes and Mr. Peters abstained. The motion carried and Treasurer Kim Beckley administered the Oath of Office for President.
The election followed a brief nomination process in which the board opened and then closed nominations. The vote was recorded by roll call in the meeting minutes, and the board proceeded to other organizational business after the oath was administered.
