Board approves multiple personnel, student and program items including early graduate and field trip
Summary
The board approved Superintendent-recommended personnel and program items (A–I), including authorizing Aubrey Somers as an early 2026 graduate, approving an unpaid leave for Alexis Stallman, hiring a full-time custodian at $15/hour, approving substitute pay and a 6th-grade overnight field trip (Oct. 26–28, 2026); all items were approved by roll-call vote.
On the recommendation of Superintendent Brian Rentsch, the board approved a slate of personnel and student-related items. The actions included approval of Aubrey Somers as an early 2026 graduate of Claymont High School; acceptance of the District Student Bullying/Harassment Report for Aug.–Dec. 2025 (which lists three bullying incidents at the Middle School and zero elsewhere under ORC 3313.666); approval of an unpaid leave for Alexis Stallman effective Feb. 24–Apr. 21, 2026; and the hire of Samual Schafer as a full-time preferred substitute custodian at $15 per hour effective Jan. 6, 2026.
The board also approved Brandy Bishop as a certified ELA substitute at $90 per day (retroactive to Jan. 5–9, 2026), accepted a partial mentor year 1 supplemental payment of $498 for Ian Meiser, approved named staff for district professional development and calendar committee work at $27 per hour, approved Joyce Mehok as a preschool classroom volunteer for 2025–2026, and authorized an overnight 6th-grade field trip for Oct. 26–28, 2026. The motion to approve Superintendent items A–O passed on a roll-call vote of five yes votes.
