Poulsbo to add cafe coordinator, promote operations manager and expand Recovery Resource Center staffing
Summary
Council approved staffing changes at the Recovery Resource Center that create a cafe coordinator role, promote the operations manager to a new operations role, and convert a casual laborer to full time; the 2025 budget already funds the changes and council asked for more detail about the cafe plan.

Kim, the department head, presented proposed staffing adjustments at the Recovery Resource Center: reassigning Summer Anderson from operations manager to a new "cafe coordinator" role to pilot food service, promoting Carrie Wax into the operations-management position, and converting a casual laborer (Julia Rodriguez) into a full-time role. Kim said the 2025 budget already includes the funding for these changes and that promotions require council approval.
Kim described the cafe as a social and recovery-support activity: "In 2025, we'd like to start a food service program at the recovery center," offering hot meals several days per week, working with volunteers and a local commercial kitchen, and linking food service to recovery-group participation and vocational opportunities. Council voted to approve the staffing changes.
