Corrections department wins approval to revise scope and fund smoke-evacuation work at Northeast Correctional Complex

Explaining the system's purpose, Strother said the smoke system is meant to divert smoke in the event of fire away from staff and inmates "that have not been released from the cell as yet." The commission moved, seconded and adopted the revision and award; no recorded opposition was reported.
