City Manager Fredda O. Wheeler told commissioners she has two remediation quotes and expected additional bids by the first week of January as the city prepares work on building issues identified earlier.
Vice Mayor Evan Hellenga said remediation should receive greater attention than the renovation of City Hall, and staff reported the Police Department space should be ready by the end of January. "The remediation needs to have more attention than the renovation at City Hall," Hellenga said.
Commissioners discussed a Fox Theatre grant and the consensus was not to accept the grant at this time; Mayor Terry Carter said he will make the city's response to the grantor. No formal vote on the grant was recorded in the minutes.
