Carter said ceiling tiles, restroom renovations, signage and an employee breakroom are also on the punch list.
Commissioner Gail Fry stressed the importance of maintaining the building's historical integrity and improving employee facilities so staff feel secure using restrooms. Carter said staff will solicit contractor pricing for demo and restoration work and reassess the layout after initial demolition; the commission moved the renovation plan to the regular meeting for approval. "It is very important that we keep the historical integrity of the building," Fry said.
