Superintendent J. Henry reported at the Aug. 11 meeting that Heartland Mechanical Contractors completed the major portion of the district's Phase III HVAC project on Aug. 1, 2025, though a handful of punch-list items remain.
Henry said two rooftop units had minor problems when first started and that a Daikin representative was scheduled to complete those repairs. "In total, the 3-year project totaled just over $4.6M and impacted almost every area of the building," the superintendent told the board, adding that the district will schedule detailed central-controls training and then permit limited in-room decentralization within established parameters.
The board did not receive dollar-by-dollar line-item detail during open session. Henry praised custodial and maintenance staff and summer student workers for their role getting the building ready for the start of school.
