Sesser‑Valier board approves five staff hires ahead of the school year

The Board of Education of Sesser‑Valier Community Unit School District No. 196 voted unanimously July 31 to employ five staff members ahead of the 2025–26 school year. President Shane Garner called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM; after a closed session the board approved the hires by separate motions, each contingent on successful fingerprint-based criminal background checks and employment history reviews.
Board member Kirk moved to employ Cody Levanti as School Secretary (Clerical); Rounds seconded and the motion passed 6–0. The board also approved hiring Jamie Bruns as a Special Education Aide (motion by Dilliner, second by Lance), Ashley Hollenkamp‑Roder as an Alternative Classroom (ACR) Supervisor (motion by Kelly, second by Rounds), Lindsay Panzier as a district custodian (motion by Rounds, second by Dilliner) and Billie Jo Hubbard as School Nurse (motion by Kirk, second by Kelly). Each action was recorded as six yeas and zero nays.
