Mayor announces auditors' visit and beach sampling; clerk reports city finances, council schedules executive session

Mayor Wanda Irish told the council that auditors will be at the city on Aug. 20 to perform field work for the FY24 audit, and that ALTA Science will take samples of the city beach on Aug. 26 with results expected in the late fall. The announcements were made during the "Reports" portion of the agenda.
City Clerk/Treasurer Miriah Pfeiffer reported a current balance of $36,701.68, reconciled May–July bank statements, property tax revenue of $35,906.40, highway user fees of $9,448.00, and a reimbursement of $5,627.32 related to a prior withholding dispute with Kootenai County. A budget public hearing notice will be published Aug. 13 and 20; the hearing is set for Aug. 27 at 5:00 PM at the Harrison Senior Center. The council also announced an executive session under Idaho Code 74-206(1)(C) to discuss acquiring an interest in real property.
