Southgate council adopts two pay-class ordinances for police and city employees

At its July 15 meeting the City of Southgate Council approved two ordinances on second reading to adjust pay classes: Ordinance 26-10 for the police department and Ordinance 26-11 for city employees. Ordinance 26-10 was moved by Council Member Melville, seconded by Council Member Hartman, and passed 6-0. Ordinance 26-11 was moved by Council Member Curry, seconded by Council Member Okura, and passed 6-0.
City Clerk Brandi Barton clarified that both measures were at their second reading. The ordinances were adopted without recorded amendments or dissent; the council recorded identical unanimous tallies for both votes (Aye 6 Nay 0). The items were presented by Assistant City Attorney Shultz for reading as part of routine legislative business.
