At the end of the workshop the council voted to convene a closed session under multiple Virginia Code provisions to discuss appointments, disposition of real property for public purposes (Phoebus and LaSalle corridor additions), bargaining strategy and pending litigation.
The clerk read the statutory motion and council approved it by roll-call. The recorded votes during the roll-call were unanimous: Councilman Bowman, Councilwoman Brown, Councilman Brown, Vice Mayor Gray, Councilman Hobbs, Councilwoman Snead and Mayor Chuck each responded "Aye." The city manager and attorney noted there are five items on the closed-session agenda, three time-sensitive; council agreed to proceed without adjourning for a separate dinner break.
