The Woodway Town Council voted to send three proposed items to the Planning Commission for review, public hearings and a formal recommendation. Town Administrator Eric Faison presented a memo requesting the commission evaluate: (1) adopting a pre‑annexation Comprehensive Plan designation and related zoning for the pier at Point Wells following the Snohomish County Council’s approval to expand the urban growth boundary; (2) revising bulk regulations for geologically hazardous areas to balance setbacks and development risk; and (3) clarifying and improving the Town’s Comprehensive Plan and zoning code amendment process.
Councilmember John Brock moved that the Planning Commission be directed to evaluate the noted issues, draft potential amendments, provide due notice, hold public hearings, and make a recommendation to the Town Council; Councilmember Rajeev Thakur seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The council’s directive starts the formal review and public‑hearing process but does not itself adopt any land‑use changes.
