As part of the FY2026 budget discussion on July 1, the South Ogden City Council determined the City will pay the 4.73% required Utah Retirement Systems (URS) contribution for Tier 2 public-safety employees. Staff presented the recommendation and council members discussed the personnel and budget implications.
The council also established that for non–Tier 2 public-safety employees and for all other city employees, the City will match employee contributions to a 401(k) at 50%, up to a 6% employee contribution. The minutes record the determination but do not include a recorded roll-call vote on the decision in the work-session minutes.
