A proposal to create a municipal notification app surfaced at the May 11 Selectboard meeting. Tyler Mitchell read a message from Fire Chief William Graham arguing the town would benefit from an app to push announcements and emergency alerts; the chief cited April 2026 events that generated 24 emergency responses, including road closures, downed power lines, a structure fire and a large brush fire.
Town Manager Ryan reported the town collected 86 survey responses (six paper) and estimated the app would cost about $3,900 in its first year for development, then roughly $3,000 annually for upkeep. Ryan said the app would be free for residents to download and that the town will publicize the idea via Town Hall postings, local businesses, the post office when possible, Facebook, the town website and Front Porch Forum.
