Council moves to recess Board of Equalization to notify owners before finalizing assessments

During the April 15 special meeting the board voted unanimously to recess so assessment notices could be mailed and property owners given two weeks to contest or discuss proposed changes before any additions appear on the 2026 tax roll. The motion was made by Councilmember Paul Frydenlund and seconded by Councilmember Damond Schemmel; the record shows all present members voted "AYE."
City staff were directed to send notices and schedule a follow-up meeting to finalize assessments after the notice period. The board adjourned at 5:25 p.m. on April 15, 2026.
