South Weber City Council discussed a partnership with Riverdale City to allow South Weber residents aged 55 and older to participate in Riverdale Senior Center programs at the Riverdale resident rate, with South Weber covering the cost difference.
Community Relations Manager Lance Evans said South Weber currently offers a senior lunch every other month at the Family Activity Center for $5 with 20—6 attendees, and that Riverdale charges $4 per lunch for members and offers classes and programs at no additional charge. "There are currently 18 South Weber residents who are members," Evans said; councilmembers favored joining the arrangement and asked for contract language to protect South Weber residents from being excluded if activities grow too popular.
The council gave direction to staff to pursue an agreement that secures resident access and clarifies payment responsibilities; no final interlocal agreement or cost schedule was presented at the meeting.
