The South Weber City Council discussed next steps and timing for an update to the city's General Plan.
Mayor Rod Westbroek sought council input on scope and timing. Councilman Joel Dills said "it has been five years since the master plan was reviewed" and suggested looking at undeveloped properties and potential zoning changes; he also raised whether the Transportation Plan should be reviewed to address resident concerns about getting in and out of the city. Councilman Jeremy Davis noted specific map areas that need revisiting, and Community Relations Manager Lance Evans said the council favored amending certain areas rather than the entire plan and that the city applied for a grant from the Wasatch Front Regional Council to help cover costs. The consensus was to hold a joint meeting with the Planning Commission, have the commission hold public hearings, and then forward recommendations to the council.
No formal action was taken; next steps include scheduling the joint meeting and completing grant and scope documentation.
