Commission allocates $1M to Alliance Healthcare for new children's crisis center set to open in 2026

He added the center will accept police, emergency and family referrals and "no one will be ever turned away for inability to pay."
Commissioners and county staff described the proposal as a partnership with the sheriff's office and noted state and private partners have been engaged; the facility's opening was stated for early 2026. Commissioner Amber Mills and others spoke in favor, emphasizing trauma‑informed care and community collaboration. The item was adopted with recorded votes and several commissioners added their sponsorship on the floor.
The appropriation is intended to be a county contribution alongside Alliance fundraising and other partners; commissioners asked for project timelines and reporting back on use of funds and outcomes when the center begins operations.
