Village Manager Gary Copeland reported that SmithCorp began work on the Franklin Road Phase II project on Jan. 27 and that the contractor's projected completion date is May 10, 2025, but that recent weather has already caused delays. He also told council that the Maintenance Department used a warm spell to deploy a hot box and fill potholes and that the government building required a replacement backflow device after the prior unit proved obsolete.
Copeland said the Maintenance Department installed no-parking signs on Franklin Road between Third Street and Route 42 to discourage parking on a double-yellow stretch where parking technically has never been permitted. He additionally noted an article for the Township Magazine is due and that Chief Copeland volunteered to prepare a summary of projects for that piece.
