Mayor Kevin Juntunen opened the June 17 meeting by congratulating Councilmembers Clarence Booth and Damond Schemmel and welcoming newly elected David Berginski, saying he looked forward to Berginski's service and that there was "much important work ahead to bring you up to speed on." The remark also included public thanks to Alex Albert, who announced he will retire from the council and whose service the mayor described as "greatly appreciated."
The council then approved the meeting agenda on a roll-call vote in which the minutes record all members voting "AYE." The mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance and brief opening announcements about upcoming community events including the Ragtop Festival and pending Park Board write-in reviews.
