The council ratified Candy McFadden as a member of the Planning & Zoning Board and approved the ratification of (Tawny/Toni) Cottrell to the Urban Renewal Board, thanking outgoing member Randall Porter for his 10 years of service. Both appointments passed on voice votes.
The council then approved the consent calendar, including minutes from the July 15, 2026 meeting and payment of city bills. Members raised concerns about the condition of the Smith Park pickleball courts and the cleanliness and maintenance schedule for Eagle Park restrooms. Staff said a contractor has been working on the pickleball courts and that staff would follow up immediately on the bathroom and trash concerns; members were advised to route service requests to city staff or the golf board (for golf-fee concerns) so issues can be placed on the appropriate committee agendas.
Council indicated staff would follow up with the contractor and provide contact/next-step guidance for concerned residents.
