Commissioners were briefed on updates to the Regional Safety Action Plan from the Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission (CVRPC). The commission heard that Reuben and Keith are working on the updates and that Reuben recently met with town representatives and school staff to review sidewalk safety as part of a Safe Routes to School grant. "Ours was a pretty easy sell for about $25,000," Turner said of the local sidewalk component; commissioners named Jasmin as the commission’s steering-committee representative and Horace Duke as the school representative on the committee.
Discussion focused on coordination between RPC staff, the Town Manager and the Road Foreman to carry out sidewalk improvements if the grant proceeds. Turner noted DuBois & King and town staff will be involved in implementation; no construction contract or final award was recorded at the meeting.
