Village Manager Gary Copeland updated the council on infrastructure projects, reporting that SmithCorp continues work on Franklin Road Phase II and, despite some weather-related setbacks, the completion date remains May 10. He said Choice One agreed to pay a change order to replace an originally specified aluminum PRV vault lid with the heavier cast-iron lid because the plan had called for an unsuitably light lid on a heavily traveled road.
Copeland also reported routine maintenance activities including storm drain cleaning and in-house repairs to a dry sprinkler system at the Government Center. He noted the Water Department has used a leak detector to find several leaking fire hydrants and has been replacing poorly functioning meters to reduce water loss; no additional appropriations were proposed at this meeting for those repairs.
