AWS says it seeks no tax abatements for Calverton project; expects new property and wage tax revenue
Summary

Becky Ford said AWS has not requested any tax abatements or incentives tied to the potential Calverton campus and that the project would generate new real property taxes, personal property taxes on equipment and wage taxes from employees.
"We do not have any agreements for tax abatements or incentives related to this project," Ford said. She referenced a SAGE study and estimated that tax revenue from the project would be ‘‘equivalent to the top employers in the community,’’ producing "tens of millions of dollars" to support capital improvements, emergency services and transportation.
Ford cautioned that these are estimates and that exact fiscal impacts would be determined through further study and the public process.
