Votes and actions: Planning Commission recommends two town center plan chapters to Board, both 6–1
Summary
On March 18, 2026 the Calvert County Planning Commission voted 6–1 on two motions recommending adoption of Prince Frederick (Chapter 2) and Dunkirk (Chapters 1 & 3) town center master plan drafts to the Board of County Commissioners; Commissioner Gadway cast the sole nay on both recommendations.
The Calvert County Planning Commission at its March 18, 2026 special meeting approved two motions to recommend the Board of County Commissioners adopt town center master plan drafts. The first motion closed the record and found the Prince Frederick Town Center Master Plan (Chapter 2, March 2026 draft) consistent with the county comprehensive plan; the second motion did the same for Chapters 1 and 3 of the Dunkirk Town Center Master Plan. Both motions carried by votes of 6–1.
Commissioners recorded one nay on each motion, identified in the hearing as Commissioner Gadway. Movers and seconders were recorded on the transcript (motions were moved and seconded by commissioners present); staff will forward the commission’s recommendations and requested clarifying language and documentation (Mill Creek wording and Dunkirk park‑and‑ride ownership/capacity) to the Board of County Commissioners.
