Avon district: elevator near completion; counseling spaces won't be ready before school opens

Superintendent Ryan Pacatte told the Board at its Aug. 25 meeting that construction work across the district continues, with art classrooms and the elementary library advancing and the elevator nearing completion. He said counseling spaces are not planned to be completed before school opens, and an outside cleaning agency has been contracted to help ready spaces for the start of the year.
Pacatte also reported additional HVAC work is being installed in the 5–6 wing and high school; HVAC for the multipurpose room is on hold pending more competitive bids. The district will rebid the stage rigging and lighting project next month with work ideally beginning after the high school musical.
