Avon board approves multiple tenures, hires and summer staff in broad consent agenda

The Avon Central School District Board of Education on Aug. 11 approved a broad consent agenda that included tenure grants, resignations, and a slate of new hires and summer-program staff.
The board accepted the minutes of July 10, 2025 and, "upon the recommendation of the Superintendent," approved tenure recommendations effective in fall 2025 for Lucy Delaney (LOTE), Danielle Howard (Art), Ashley Pollok (Speech/Language), Julie Herkimer (Special Education), Chelsie Rapone (Special Education), and tenure-area appointments for several teaching assistants with effective dates ranging from Sept. 1 to Oct. 25, 2025. The board also accepted the resignation of music teacher Meaghan Stambaugh, effective Aug. 31, 2025, and approved probationary appointments including Jill Whitney (math) effective Aug. 28, 2025 (probationary period ending 8/27/28) and Emma Kostraba (art) effective 8/28/25 (probation ending 8/27/29). Other appointments approved included paraprofessionals, daily substitutes and maintenance staff.
The personnel consent package was approved by recorded voice with five ayes and no nays. The approvals list specific effective dates and certifications where provided, and the board recorded the actions in the official minutes.
