The Avon Central School Board approved a slate of officer appointments, vendor designations and operational authorizations for the 2025–26 school year at its July 10 meeting.
Among the approvals: Tompkins Community Bank, Community Bank and NYCLASS were named official depositories; Livingston County News was designated the official newspaper; Susan Pike was confirmed as District and Central Treasurer; and the Business Manager, Treasurer or Superintendent were authorized to sign bank transfers with two of three signatures. The board also designated Title IX and Section 504 responsibilities with the Director of Pupil Personnel Services and assigned the Director of Facilities, Safety & Security as the AHERA LEA contact.
Operational authorizations granted to the chief school officer include certification of payrolls, acting as purchasing agent, approval of petty cash accounts (elementary principal $50; high school principal $100; school lunch change $50; business manager $100), authority to appoint part‑time personnel and substitutes, approval of budget transfers within legal limits up to $25,000, and approval of capital project change orders up to $50,000. The board also authorized electronic signatures for budget and payroll entries.
The motions carried where recorded, establishing the administrative and fiscal framework for district operations in 2025–26.
