Avon Central School Board elects Rodney George president, affirms officers for 2025–26

The Avon Central School District Board of Education elected Rodney George as board president and Stephen Comeau as vice president during its July 10, 2025 reorganizational meeting and immediately administered the oaths of office.
District Clerk Jennifer VanRy swore in Kyle Montague and Karen Vanderbilt earlier in the meeting; the full board then voted 4–0 with one abstention to name George president (recorded vote: 4 ayes, 0 nays, 1 abstain—R. George) and again to name Comeau vice president (4 ayes, 0 nays, 1 abstain—S. Comeau). VanRy then administered the officers’ oaths and turned the meeting over to President George.
The board also approved routine officer appointments for the year, including Jennifer VanRy as Clerk of the Board, Susan Pike as District and Central Treasurer, Katie Carbone as Deputy District Treasurer, and Kerry Murray as Tax Collector (stipend). Acting clerk authority was delegated to Business Manager Kristen Murphy and Superintendent Ryan Pacatte when the District Clerk is absent. The motions for these appointments carried unanimously where recorded.
The reorganization consolidates the board’s administrative signatory and reporting structure for 2025–26 and sets the leadership roles that will preside over regular and special meetings through the coming school year.
