Vice Chair Joseph Moen called the Forest, Parks & Recreation Committee to order June 9, 2026, at Forestry Headquarters in Solon Springs. The committee approved minutes from the March 10 meeting and took up several items early after a successful motion to suspend the rules.
The committee approved a request from the Wisconsin Canoe Racing Association to use Gordon Dam County Park as the July 11, 2026 race headquarters and approved a donation and installation of a wooden life jacket kiosk at Lucius Woods County Park from the St. Croix Headwaters Foundation, with the foundation responsible for purchase, installation, maintenance, and a sign identifying it as the kiosk provider. Committee members also voted to accept high timber-sale bids "most advantageous to Douglas County" after staff review for accuracy and bidder qualifications. The meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
