At the 9-1-1 meeting the chair asked the board to approve the long list of Southern Software renewals. "Properly moved and 2nd," the chair said, and the board approved the renewals by voice vote. The commission then considered an Indigital proposal "for integrating central dispatch into the new phone system" at a one-time cost of $12,901.87; the chair confirmed the board approved that item by voice vote.
When the full county commission later reviewed the general fund and 9-1-1 allocations, commissioners voted to rescind the earlier Indigital proposal and to direct that the cost be paid from 9-1-1 funds. The motion to rescind the budget amendment carried on a voice vote.
The meeting also covered routine 9-1-1 items: a draft 9-1-1 policy was presented for county attorney review, and several items of equipment were approved for surplus or transfer to other county offices. Chair noted that 9-1-1 is funded separately by a fee on phone bills and that "whenever we take action on a budget and all that, that is live stream," reinforcing that substantive 9-1-1 budget actions are public.
The actions on renewals and the subsequent rescission leave the county with the software renewals approved and the Indigital integration funded from 9-1-1 funds per the later motion.
