Owner representatives promise temporary office, resident meetings and unit removals at Westwood Estates

Representatives from Equity Lifestyle Properties responded to resident complaints at the Pleasant Prairie board meeting, acknowledging communication breakdowns and promising several near-term steps.
Regional manager Amelia Merchant and senior vice president Greg Kane told the board management has opened a temporary, staffed office on site with published hours and a phone number routed to a staffed office (Rainbow Lake Manor) while the Westwood phone routing is updated. "They do now have a temporary office on-site that is available to residents. It's going to be staffed, in person on Mondays from 1 to 5, Wednesdays from 9AM to 1PM, and then Fridays from 9AM to 1PM," Community Development Director Rob Hanson told the board after meeting with management.
Management also said it has begun required inspections and permitting for two vacant or dilapidated units and estimated removal around Jan. 15. The owner's legal counsel said the temporary office meets statutory requirements for on-site management and that the permanent modular office has been permitted and will be installed in spring when utilities and concrete pad work are complete.
Management said it will hold quarterly meetings with residents and circulate a newsletter; the company gave a contact number for immediate concerns: (262) 694-1233.
Residents and trustees said they will monitor follow-through and asked for a short-term funded capital plan and quarterly reports to the village.
