Representatives from the Los Molinos High School FFA presented a slideshow to trustees on Feb. 19 highlighting current events, ongoing projects and upcoming activities. The presentation provided the board with an update on student-led agricultural programs and engagement opportunities.
After the presentation, Trustee Roger Mesecher addressed a Booster Club fundraiser and said he was concerned about alcohol being served at a student-focused event. "I believe serving alcohol at a student-focused event is inappropriate, regardless of any precautions taken," he said, and he raised concerns that alcohol could be used to attract attendance and contributions while students are present. The board did not record any motion or change to Booster policies at the meeting; Mesecher's remarks were entered as a Trustee opinion in the minutes.
