Band Backers donate wrapped trailer to Topeka High for instrument transport

"We were able to have make it happen over the summer, and we do have the trailer is here," Band Backers president Hannah Schumacher said, thanking business donors and volunteers. Schumacher identified donations from CoreFirst, Azura, the Topeka High School Historical Society and a private donor; the group raised $11,366 for the trailer and $4,155 to wrap it.
Superintendent staff and board members noted the donation reduces district capital needs. "This is money that the district does not have to pay for a new trailer," a board member said, adding the contribution reflects community partners stepping in to support students. The board approved the consent agenda that included authorization for the president or superintendent to sign special-project and purchasing contracts tied to consent items.
The Band Backers representative remained available after the report to answer questions about timeline and next steps for wrapping and placing the trailer into service.
